Social Sourcing Ideas about First Cover Design

Updated cover for The Last American

For The Last American, I reached out to my Facebook friends and asked what they thought of this baseline cover design. I got some really interesting (in a good way) feedback, ranging from “Looks like a great read” to a fairly detailed evaluation from a HIGHLY respected graphic design friend.

Nobody mentioned the hand I accidentally captured on the map image until after I already had it fixed.

I love creating things, so I’m having a blast. And I’m humbled by all the people who are willing to take the time to make suggestions and provide me with feedback. I hope they enjoy the book!

Joe Fournier is a fantasy and science fiction author who has worked to develop his skills and practice the craft for over 50 years before publishing his first novel. He has been an active member of several writers’ groups, including the Virginia Writer’s Club where he served as the Vice President and President of Roanoke, VA’s “Valley Writers” chapter. Joe currently lives in Kingston, WA, where he and his wife enjoy exploring, hiking, biking, and world-class local musicians, artists, makers, and other authors. He is a technology enthusiast and sometimes dabbles with AI, though no one can prove he helped accidentally creating a time machine, sending a friend 40 years into the future. No one except the family cat, who returned with some interesting skills and insights.
