The Next Story in the Series

I thought I had a real head start on my next story while The Seven Coins: Convergence is in Alpha Reads. I was wrong.

Even though I have a completed draft, it was written before I really zeroed in on some key character attributes and motivations. It was crafted through a different lens than that through which I now see the Seven Coins Universe.

All is not lost, though. I realized that what I do have is an excellent baseline for constructing a new outline that includes plot points to serve the revised story line.

Fortunately, I recently learned some new things about the writing program I use, Scrivener. Tricks that will help me improve the story and better manage my workflow so I can hopefully write faster.

Revision is all part of the writing process, and I’m embracing that fact. So, here we go into a major re-write. I think this is version 5. :-/

PostScript: This post actually sat in my Drafts folder for a year and a half (since 06/06/2020) while I revised the story, moved twice, and finished a different book. But I thought it was worth sharing. Revision really is part of the journey that you have to be willing to walk into. But you also have to press the publish button eventually. Nothing will ever be perfect, and if you wait for that, nothing will ever be published.
