The Last American series emerged out of early pandemic angst. As we hunkered down in a log cabin on Smith Mountain Lake, trying to make sense of our fast-stopping world, the story sliced time away from other pursuits and demanded a voice.
Originally, I had not planned a series, but my Beta Readers clamored for more of the story and the characters, so I decided to write Unchipped: The Last American. Also in this series is The Last American, the book Prolly refers to as her grandfather’s first book.
Series and Sequence:
- The Last American, the book Prolly refers to as her grandfather’s first book. The story of a part-time and former SEAL (Acorn Riddle) trying to make sense of the fast-changing world, and figuring out how to choose sides.
- “Grampa’s Second Book” (working title) – the story Acorn’s daughter, Maria, as she grows up in Sanctuary and struggles with the safety she enjoys. Told from Acorn’s PoV.
- Unchipped: The Last American, the story of Prolly, Acorn’s granddaughter, who at sixteen, in occupied Merica, is just about grown up. Chronicles her adventure and coming of age.
- “Fluid’s Journey” (working title) – the story of Acorn’s grandson, Fluid, as he goes to rescue a very close friend who has been captured by the Complex and taken deep into Chipped America.
